Health Minister Andrew Little says he wants to see vaccination numbers increase to about 10,000 a day by the end of the month.
To make that happen, more centres are opening up, where people will go to get the jab. Across Auckland up to six large vaccination centres will open in the coming weeks.
So far, just one has been operating in the suburb of Highbrook, where 712 people received the shot yesterday alone.
