Māori GPs cautiously optimistic about Māori health authority

Cautiously optimistic is how Māori GPs and health advocates are feeling after the announcement tangata whenua will have their own health body.

A new Māori health authority will make policy decisions alongside the new mainstream health service, Health NZ.

It will have the ability to choose the services it wishes to funds - something many Māori in the health sector have been crying out for.
