Hypocritical and a distraction - that's how some Māori health leaders have described National leader Judith Collins' comments that a Māori Health Authority is separatist.
Her party want to scrap it, saying the healthcare system shouldn't be determined by race. It's been met with dismay from Māori GPs and providers who say the current system is already separatist - because Māori are getting sub-par care.
