Ex-inmate hopes Wāhine Māori Pathways will cut recidivism

A former inmate at Christchurch Women's Prison is hopeful a new programme to connect wāhine with their culture, will help cut down the number returning to prison.

Corrections Minister Kelvin Davis was in Ōtautahi today to talk about the extension of the Wāhine Māori Pathways programme, thanks to an extra $10 million in last week's Budget.
