The Wellington region has been bombarded with a series of weather related incidents, causing havoc to trains and roads today.
A landslip this morning took out two of the main commuter routes, with a train derailed and part of State Highway 1 flooded.
The railway line between Porirua and Paekakariki will remain closed overnight and State Highway 1 reopened just before five this evening.
