Lynfield College principal Cath Knell told Checkpoint she has asked officials to provide a pop-up testing centre at the school.
The big request from the community is for a pop-up Covid-19 testing centre at Lynfield College. Knell said she has passed on that on to the government.
"That is a point of conversation we've had today. Our request is being taken seriously... But I think the sheer logistics of providing resources and staffing means that's not likely to happen in the near future. Definitely not for the next test at day five."
"Our community while obviously stressed has been absolutely wonderful at pulling together," she said.
The community is taking the situation seriously, isolating and getting tested, Knell said.
She has not yet been given any information about how the Lynfield College student caught Covid-19.
The student was last at school on Tuesday, and had not been involved in any extra-curricular events, which Knell said has been a big relief.
