It's a step down the alert levels for Northland with the region moving down to alert level 2 at 11:59pm Tuesday.

Waikato is also staying at alert level 3 - but that will be reviewed on Friday. For businesses like the Aotearoa Surf School in Mangawhai it means teaching in two different alert levels - with lessons taking place on both sides of the Auckland/Northland border.
