There have been two positive wastewater tests for Covid in Gisborne, Mayor Rehette Stoltz told Checkpoint.
The tests were from November 1 and 3. She said there are no positive reported cases in the region, and the results could be from people who have recently returned from MIQ.
She is urging everyone in the region with flu-like symptoms to get tested immediately.
"And also, get vaccinated."
