While retail is back in level 3.2 Auckland's CBD businesses say they're floundering as office workers stay home leaving the city deserted.
Figures from Heart of the City show inner city businesses have lost around a billion dollars since borders were shut last February.
And as reporter Louise Ternouth and camera operator Marika Khabazi report, business owners fear they're in for a rocky ride until schools return in late January 2022 as Aucklanders flee the city for Christmas.
