An intense bombardment is continuing in Ukraine's second largest city as Russia intensifies its attack trying to tighten its grip on the country.

Kharkiv, has suffered heavy shelling and the city centre has become a wasteland of damaged buildings and debris.

Meanwhile, Russia has taken the southern city of Kherson. And in the capital, Kyiv, sporadic explosions can be heard as a massive convoy, made up of Russian military vehicles continues to grow in size, despite remaining stationary for some days.
