Russian forces have destroyed over 90 percent of Mariupol - pummelling the the southern port city with rockets and missiles and cutting off access to electricity, water and supplies.
If Mariupol is seized, Russia will gain control of 80 percent of Ukraine's Black Sea coastline - cutting-off its maritime trade.
Western leaders are preparing further sanctions on Russia and France says there's no ceasefire agreement in sight.
