Long-serving Labour MP Louisa Wall is retiring from politics. Her achievements in Parliament have been praised across the political spectrum - most notably fighting to legalise same-sex marriage.
That legislation came into effect in 2013. However, her 14 year parliamentary career has not been without controversy - most recently her battle against her own party - over the Labour candidacy selection for the Manurewa seat.
