Scientists reassure Ruapehu skiers of safety after crater plume

Volcanologists say they have seen a steam plume from Mt Ruapehu, visible for 45 minutes.

Mt Ruapehu is putting out the strongest tremor - or vibrations - in two decades and the crater lake temperature has risen to 39C this week. Nobody is allowed within a 2km radius of the summit. But as Sam Olley reports, skiers are being told not to cancel their plans.
