A new police retail crime unit is identifying and targeting some of the countries worst shoplifters who are brazenly stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of goods.
Retail NZ estimates there's a billion dollars a year in loses from retail offending. The initiative was announced by the Police Commissioner late last year but is only just up and running.
