Tommy Murray's body was controversially taken from his Wellington home and taken to Northland for burial, against his wife's wishes.
Today his extended family has spoken out saying they were doing what they thought was right in accordance with their tikanga.
Tommy Murray died suddenly last week at his local gym, at the age of 54. His wife, Sara, plans to take legal action to get her husband back insisting he wanted to be cremated to be with her.
