What's happening with the weather is a huge part of peoples everyday lives, with forecasts sometimes forming the basis of life and death decisions in emergencies.
As was the case in recent extreme weather events.
Today the government anounced a review of Aotearoa's forecasting system. It says there are two agencies that have "critical" capabilities;
Niwa & Metservice. And the review will focus on future needs, improving and integrating forecasting systems.
