Govt to hand out 'report cards' to local body councils

Local government minister Simeon Brown said these will be benchmarks that can be accessed by the public - and show ratepayers how their council compares to others. It's part of a raft of reforms rolled out this afternoon as Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Simeon Brown fronted up for the last post-cabinet briefing of the year.
