Calls for govt financial support for school holiday programmes

The school holidays are only just finishing up and for many parents that means they've spent weeks juggling the stress of childcare alongside returning to work. For a lot of families, the only or best option for their child is a holiday programme. But they can be expensive - with some charging up to $300 for five days, while others are up to $85 a day - and that's not including food and all the extra things they need like spare clothes. Some working in the industry say the cost is too much - and there needs to be government support like there is for early childcare services. Louise Ternouth reports.
