Businesses in Bulls suffering to SH1 detour

Lower North Island businesses say a sign directing people to detour around the town of Bulls is, well, total bull. The sign on State highway 1 directs drivers to bypass Bulls and to take State Highways 49, 4, 47, and 41 instead. But State Highway 1 doesn't actually close until after Waiouru - another 110 kilometres further up the road - causing businesses between the towns to suffer as people turn off onto the detour.
