PM's promise remains unfulfilled to lower bowel screening age
18 months ago, a question from a woman called Aimee-Rose Yates during an election debate prompted a promise from then leader of the opposition Christopher Luxon. That promise from Luxon was that New Zealand would lower its bowel screening age from 60. Ms Yates was just 29 when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer - and after Luxon's first 100 days in office she wrote an open letter to the PM asking about his commitment. But so far, exactly one year on from that letter and a year and a half since she first raised it - the Prime Minister's promise remains unfulfilled. Jimmy Ellingham reports.
