Inquest into death of Juliana Bon-illa Herrera begins

The Department of Corrections has admitted it failed to properly monitor a paroled prisoner who went on to brutally murder a woman in her Christchurch home. Colombian national Juliana Bon-illa Herrera was stabbed to death by Joseph James Brider in early-2022. An inquest into her death began in Christchurch today in front of coroner Alexandra Cunninghame.
