The Waitangi Tribunal says the sale of shares in some state owned assets must be delayed, until Maori water rights are resolved; The Tribunal says it's long overdue for the Crown to recognise its obligation to seek a resolution; The Maori Council's lead lawyer - Felix Geiringer says they're very happy with the findings that the sales in state owned enterprises should be put off; In delivering today's interim report, the Tribunal relies heavily on the Treaty of Waitangi and previous legal fights for rights; While the full report is yet to come, the Tribunal says its recommendations won't change.
