Walt Freeman is a mink farmer from Eastern Ontario. He lives on land purchased by his grand father in 1921. He's farmed mink all his life, and while he used to produce animals with white fur, he now has black mink.  Furs are bought predominantly by China where they're manufactured into fur trims for garments and other clothing items.

Canada has about 300 fur farms, while about 50 thousand people actively trap wild animals for their pelts.
