New Zealand's sheep and beef vets recently got together to celebrate an important milestone.
Half a century ago the Society of Sheep and Beef Cattle Veterinarians was formed, making it the first special interest branch of the veterinary association.
Rural reporter Maja Burry went along to the celebrations and caught up with one member of the society who has had plenty of cups of tea around the farm table, John Smart.
He's been based at Clutha Vets in Otago since 1976 after graduating from Massey University at the age of 22.
