Farmers and growers in Te Tai Rāwhiti have had anxious times this week after a weather bomb hit and are still assessing damage from the heavy rain and flooding.

Ewe pregnancy rates are down in Canterbury likely due to deteriorated feed conditions at the time the ram went out. 

Farmers on the Chatham Islands have reverted to mustering stock on horseback after the island ran out of petrol. On top of this, farmers have had to cull stock because they haven't been able to transport animals off island as normal since April, while a transport vessel undergoes repairs. More on this here
