Kiwi actor Luciane Buchanan has become a familiar face to millions as one of the stars in the Netflix series The Night Agent. Playing a cybersecurity and tech entrepreneur, Rose Larkin, Season 2 of the show has just launched with a third already greenlit. It became the most streamed show on Netflix for six months when it premiered in 2023 and was immediately renewed for another season. The actor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in drama and psychology from the University of Auckland before appearing on New Zealand television screens in Filthy Rich, The New Legends of Monkey and Sweet Tooth. Buchanan auditioned for The Night Agent during a lockdown and was cast in the Netflix production during the pandemic. Buchanan is now living in New York after deciding to stay, following production. She spoke to Culture 101 as the Fast Favourites guest.
