In poet Amy Marguerite's impressive debut collection with Auckland University Press over under fed she explores, "the peculiar loveliness and specific loneliness of the human condition."
It's a volume that doesn't shy away from the confessional, but does so in ways that are very smart and very funny, opening out her life to our own awkward , absurd experiences of the world.
Amy Marguerite is based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and completed an MA with distinction in creative writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters in 2022. Her essay on the new generation of Aotearoa poets will appear later in the year in AUP anthology Te Whāriki.
Amy shared some poems and spoke with Culture 101's Mark Amery.
