Life at Ihumatao as the occupation continues
After dominating news headlines for weeks, updates on the situation at Ihumatao have slowed recently as discussions about the future of the land moved away from the frontlines to meeting rooms and high level talks. But for those living at Ihumatao, the occupation continues - and more than seven weeks on from that first call to action, dozens of people remain on the whenua. Their motivation to see the land returned to tangata whenua keeps them there day after day - night after night - and they say they won't be going anywhere until the land is returned.
