Samoan cousins face off in RWC, Samoa vs Scotland

From First Up, 5:25 am on 1 October 2019

For two Samoan cousins, the game of rugby has taken them from intense childhood backyard matches to playing professional rugby all around the world. Pele Cowley, Samoa's reserve halfback and Scotland's Sean Maitland grew up together in Tokoroa and have shared Samoan heritage. But late last night they came head to head at the Rugby World Cup with one cousin playing for Samoa and the other cousin playing for Scotland. The game united their families who traveled from around the world to back both boys in their match in Kobe, Japan. Leilani Momoisea caught up with Pele's mum Lea who says the boys international rugby success is a result of their grandparents' migrant dream from the Pacific.
