Extinction Rebellion protests cause disruption in London
Hundreds of climate change activists have been arrested around the world after taking part in a protest movement called Extinction Rebellion. Demonstrations have taken place in countries including Germany, Spain, France, Australia and New Zealand where yesterday dozens were arrested in Wellington's Lambton Quay. The Extinction Rebellion protests are expected to take place in some 60 cities around the world over the next two weeks. Today in London more than 130 activists have been detained with organisers vowing to shut down key sites in the city including the Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square.
