Indian-born New Zealander protests 'racist' immigration policy

From First Up, 5:17 am on 4 November 2019

An Indian-born New Zealand citizen wants to see immigration policy that's based around Indian culture. About 100 people gathered in Auckland's Aotea Square yesterday protesting against what they call New Zealand's 'racist' immigration policy. It's after Immigration officals began insisting couples to have lived together to be eligible for partnership visas - a requirement that is more difficult for those in culturally-arranged marraiges to fulfil. Raman Singh, who moved to New Zealand with his family when he was 11-years-old, told First Up's Lydia Batham the problems he's faced trying to get a visa for his wife.
