An American lawyer and a New Zealand teenager have joined forces to lobby for greater toilet access for people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. About 20,000 New Zealanders suffer with IBD - needing urgent access to toilets at all times in case of emergency. But some business refuse to allow sufferers access to staff toilets, which can result in humiliating situations. Now, Allyson Bain, the woman behind an American law compelling businesses to provide toilet access to IBD sufferers has partened with 15-year-old Nicole Thornton to get a similar law brought in here. Indira spoke to them earlier this week and began by asking Ally about her own story.
