Race is on to save koalas on Kangaroo Island

The race is on to save koalas still in the wild on Kangaroo Island. Fire's destroyed almost 80 per cent of the koalas habitat on the island - with hundreds now in the care of the Kangroo Island Wildlife Park Owner Sam Mitchell told First Up's Lydia Batham they usually care for about 700 native animals - of which 10 are koalas - but have been welcoming hundreds of koalas since fire broke out at the beginning of the year.
