A Ministry of Health sting has led to the first prosecution for providing sunbed tanning to a person under eighteen. The owner of a Queenstown beauty salon plead guilty after she failed to ask for ID when a 17-year-old female sent by the ministry requested a sunbed on July 15th last year. The Ministry has been monitoring operators since the beginning of 20-17, following a ban of under 18's using sunbeds. First Up's Louise Ternouth spoke to The Ministry of Health's Technical Adviser Martin Glendhill about why they're carrying out these operations.
