The co-owner of a logging company says while the past weeks have been terrible, he's thankful that help is now on its way. Gavin Edmonds and his wife run Stirling Logs in Gisborne. The forestry industry was one of the first to be directly affected by Covid-19, with log exports to China grinding to a halt, causing widespread job losses for logging companies. He says he's hopeful the government's Business Support Package will give businesses, like his own, a bit of help to stay afloat during the turbulent times. He told our reporter Harry Lock, his business was really feeling the impact of the pandemic.
