Dad says he'll tell newborn daughter she is 5 millionth NZer
We're now officially a country of 5 million. According to Statistics New Zealand, at some point in March our population hit the milestone number - 17 years after we grew to 4 million. So who could the 5 millionth person be? Perhaps a New Zealander returning from overseas because of COVID, or a recent immigrant. Or it could be one of the next generation of Kiwis...a baby born in March. Well just before lockdown, in mid March, Brendon Morrow became a Dad for the first time. He told First Up's Lydia Batham he'd be over the moon if he found out his daughter Rosa's the 5 millionth New Zealander.
