Dawn Chorus: Birdsong during Lockdown

Did you notice you were hearing a lot more of the birds during lockdown? Michael John Gorman stepped outside his house in Munich in the early morning one April day with his 6 year old son and was amazed by how many birds he heard that he had never heard before. This was part of the reason why he started the Dawn Chorus project, encouraging people around the world to stand outside their house, or on their balcony and record the birdsong - thousands responded. Michael is the founding director of Biotopia, a new museum of environment and lifesciences and he spoke to our producer Ellie Jay about the project.
