Kapiti Airport land should be returned to mana whenua

Descendants of the original land owners at Kapiti Airport and the local mayor are calling on the government to return it to mana whenua. The site was taken under the Public Works Act in 1939 to build an airport during World War Two, and was later sold to a private developer. Now there are fears that the latest owners - who bought the land last year - are to rezone it for a residential development. Te Aniwa Hurihanganui has the story.
