Gold Fossicking at Fever Pitch

Gold fossickers are dusting off pans and rummaging through garages for shovels, as prices for the precious metal reach fever pitch. Greymouth-born Jade Wright is part of several online fossickers' forums, such as the New Zealand gold mining and gold prospecting group. It has 18-hundred members with 17 added in the past week. Mr Wright says the rise in value, and straitened times right now are definitely driving the interest in gold. But as he told our Nelson reporter Tracy Neal, the appeal of fossicking is about more than potentially money.
