Victims see Christchurch gunman as weak
A victim of the Christchurch mosque attacks says seeing the gunman in court made him realise how weak he really is. Mustafa Boztas travelled from Turkey and spent two weeks in managed isolation to be at the High Court in Christchurch, after Brenton Tarrant shot him in the leg at Al Noor mosque last year. The gunman is being sentenced on 51 counts of murder, 40 of attempted murder and 1 of engaging in a terrorist act. The final victim impact statements were read out in court yesterday. Mr Boztas told our reporter Katie Todd he felt all his nerves dissipate as he gave his victim impact statement yesterday, although there was no reaction from the gunman.
