Taranaki's Green School considers changing grant to loan
The Green School is open to paying back some of the near 12 million dollars its set to receive from the government's fund for shovel ready projects. Following widespread outrage, Green Party co-leader James Shaw apologised yesterday for allocating taxpayer money to a private school. It came as RNZ revealed Treasury had advised against funding the school expansion - and wants to see the grant changed to a loan. That's something the Green School's chief executive Chris Edwards told reporter Robin Martin its considering, as he explained how it came to awarded the grant.
