The Labour Party unveiled its billion dollar plan for the health sector yesterday, which includes 176-million dollars allocated to improve access to dental care. The party plans to invest in up to 20 more mobile dental clinics and to more than triple the emergency grant for urgent dental care from 300 to one thousand dollars. And with National Party leader Judith Collins saying Labour's dental policy doesn't sound like a bad idea, it would appear likely to be introduced by whoever the next government may be. President of the New Zealand Dental Association Kate Ayers told our producer Matthew Theunissen that increasing the emergency grant couldn't come soon enough.
