18 year old's lifeguard skills helps in river rescue of 11 yo

An 11-year-old boy was rescued from the Waikato river over the weekend thanks to a heroic by-stander. Joel Kumeroa is an 18-year-old builder, but it was his life guard skills that gave him the courage to rescue the youngster. He told our reporter Louise Ternouth he was leaving the river when he heard someone yell out ... just in the nick of time.
