Kiwi Fern retires after 4 Rugby League World Cups, 1 Sevens

Retiring Kiwi Fern Honey Hireme-Smiler couldn't quite make it to a seventh World Cup. The cross-code star is hanging up her footy boots after nearly 20 years as an elite athlete and with four Rugby League World Cups and a rugby and a rugby sevens world cup behind her. Hireme-Smiler's mum died last year and she nearly gave up her career at that point but she made it back for the Kiwi Ferns only international rugby league Test match this year before signing off.
