Over 100 graduates from the New Zealand Management Academies Manukau have received their level 4 certificate in Early Childhood Education home-based teaching - all of whom are Pasifika. The graduation ceremony took place last week in South Auckland with Tonga's Princess Mele Siuilikutapu Kalaniuvalu Fotofili presenting the certificates. One of the graduates was Tongan educator Kulaea Taufa from 'Api Fakakoloa Educational Services Limited - a network that runs eight home-based ECE's in Auckland. She spoke with RNZ Pacific's Sela Jane Hopgood about why she decided to work in Early Childhood Education.
