Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine rollout halts in South Africa

South Africa has halted its roll-out of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine after a study showed "disappointing" results in protecting against the country's new Covid-19 variant. The mutant strain now accounts for an estimated 90 per cent of new Covid-19 cases in South Africa and has spread throughout the world, with cases being confirmed in New Zealand's managed isolation facilities.
