Temporary suspension of flights from India after Covid surge

From First Up, 5:43 am on 9 April 2021

New Zealand has temporarily suspended travel from India as a response to a surge in Covid cases amongst returnees. It came after 23 new positive cases of Covid were identified in managed isolation yesterday. And of those, 17 were from India. The Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield recommended the government take swift action. And as Ella Stewart reports, a recent arrival says airport authorities didn't verify his pre-flight Covid test and he believes some passengers already have Covid before they board their flights.
