Robertson: PM chooses my tie for Budget speech
The Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson acknowledges that his government's public sector pay restrictions have caused distress and upset, but maintains the restrictions don't amount to a pay freeze. Under the restrictions, public service workers who earn more than 100-thousand dollars a year can expect no pay rise until at least 2024. It's the same for most of those who earn more than 60-thousand a year. Nathan Rarere asked Mr Robertson why, if some people won't get a pay bump until 2024, it isn't a pay freeze.
