Cook Islanders spent their tourist free time improving life

A Rarotongan business owner says that locals shifted their focus to the community to survive the pandemic as they awaited the return of tourists. Charlie Hosking, moved back from Melbourne four years ago to manage the family business - Charlie's - a bar and restaurant in Takitumu. He told our reporter Nick Truebridge locals pitched in to help each other renovate their businesses and being tourist-free for 15 months did have a silver lining.
