Chatham Islands could be the first fully vaccinated place in NZ

From First Up, 5:12 am on 2 July 2021

The Chathams islands could end up being the first place in the country to have a fully vaccinated population. Our producer Matthew Theunissen has spent much of the week there getting to know the changeable weather and the locals as the vaccine rollout begins. And one of the things he noticed is that everyone knows everyone and you can't travel far without meeting a Croon. You see the island's Mayor Monique Croon also runs the hardware store. Her sister Simone Croon runs the Waitangi store- a general store and postal service. And Simone and Monique's sister Toni Croon is the owner-operator of the Hotel Chatham. Matthew asked Toni how important it was for the island to be vaccinated.
